Scarlett Johansson, American actress (born on the 22nd of November 1985 in New York City New York) has received acclaim for her acting abilities across genres such as the period dramas through thrillers to action-packed films. Johansson was raised in New York City as the daughter of an architect, and also the owner of a production company. She was the twin sister of Hunter and she were the youngest siblings. At the age of seven, her interest in acting had increased. She began to audition for commercials. The passion for acting developed rapidly and she shortly thereafter at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. At age eight she appeared with Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry, and at nine she made her film debut as Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson played the lead role as a character in Just Cause (1995), prior to her breakthrough in the film Manny & Lo - a story about two sisters, orphans that get away. The film, The Horse Whisperer, Johansson was a teenager who suffered an horrific crash. In Ghost World, her role Ghost World brought her more recognition as the troubled teenager Rebecca. It was the Dannon yogurt commercial. Like other young actresses the actress honed her talents in the theatre. She worked on various projects throughout the USA as she made her debut on stage. She attended the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
